NATURESERVE Range Maps

The wonderful range maps showing up on the species pages on this site were provided by NatureServe, in collaboration with Robert Ridgely, James Zook, The Nature Conservancy - Migratory Bird Program, Conservation International - CABS, World Wildlife Fund - US, and Environment Canada - WILDSPACE.

NatureServe is a wonderful resource for bird and other animal information.  Through their website, you can also download free data, including range map data sets for birds of the Western Hemisphere.  These data sets were used in the compilation of the range maps showing up on the NatureServe site.

Specifically, range maps for this website were obtained from:

InfoNatura: Birds, mammals, and amphibians of Latin America [web application]. 2004. Version 4.1 . Arlington, Virginia (USA): NatureServe. Available: http://www.natureserve.org/infonatura.
