Prairie Ringneck Snake Photo
OK, so it's not a bird. He was just such a cute little dude I had to put him on here. I sent these to Doug Backlund who told me it was a Prairie Ringneck snake. He was hanging out on the sidewalk at Arrowhead Park east of Sioux Falls. Doug says they used to be considered rare, but are found pretty often now in the southeast part of the state. Taken with Canon 300D, 70-200 4.0L lens.
