Cactus Wren on Blooming Saguaro

The Saguaro cacti were just starting to bloom on a family vacation to southern Arizona in May of 2008. It was certainly fun to see the Sonoran in Spring, and the blooming Saguaros certainly attracted many birds.  These guys weren't really one of the species attracted by the nectar or flowers, but they certainly used the Saguaros to advertise and defend their territory.  This guy took up this pose on a blooming Saguaro, just before dawn on May morning.  Photo taken on the outskirts of Tucson, Arizona in May 2008.
