Blue (Dusky) Grouse

We were driving through the Bighorn Mountains in the summer of 2008 when a small group of these guys darted across the road.  All were quite shy as I tried to photograph them, except for this one, who posed in the vegetation for a while before slipping away.  Blue Grouse were recently split into two species, with the Dusky Grouse being the designation for this inland species.  Photo taken in June 2008.
