Black Tern in Flight

For my money, the most beautiful of all the gulls and terns is the Black Tern in breeding plumage, with that gorgeous black plumage with silvery wings and tail. I'd never had much luck photographing adult, breeding plumaged birds, especially not in flight. In the Spring of 2010, I was absolutely thrilled to get this photo at Lake Whitewood in South Dakota.
