South Dakota Birds and Birding |

I have project collaborators working with me from Menlo Park, California. Whenever I go to visit with them, I also try to get to the coast, and one of my favorite spots is at "Land's End", on the northwestern edge of San Francisco. The "Sutro Baths", the ruins of an early 1900s bathhouse along the coast, are a wonderful spot to look for birds. I enjoy this photo of a Black Phoebe almost as much for the unique perch as I do for the bird itself. The perch is some of the rusting iron pieces that are found in spots at the Baths.
