Black-crowned Night-Heron Photo

Another example of why the Lake Thompson area is one of my favorites for birding and photography.  Especially in the spring as they arrive, I've had great luck finding these guys in the Lake Thompson area.  This one was unusually cooperative, not batting a bit of that gorgeous red eye as I took photos from relatively close distance.  The wonderful early morning light was a great bonus as well.
