Ring-necked Pheasant

On that February 2003 day when I got the Gyrfalcon shots, I started out at dawn just off the interstate south of Presho.  I have NEVER seen so many pheasants in all my life!  There were literally HUNDREDS scattered around this abandoned farmstead in a hollow.  The morning light was great for shooting some fat females on a fence, but I never got a good shot of a male that day.  And guess what was hanging around hunting these guys?  Yes, another Gyrfalcon, as well as a Golden Eagle, and amazingly, several Bald Eagles, which I normally don't see around here except near water.  Equipment was Swarovski AT80 HD scope, Nikon Coolpix 4500 digital camera.
