Black-legged Kittiwake
An AWESOME example of the power of digiscoping. Technically, is this something you'd want hanging on your wall? Heck no!! But consider this bird, a Black-legged Kittiwake, normally a pelagic species, is EXTREMELY rare in South Dakota, as you'd expect. Consider that this shot was taken at a distance of over 100 yards...about the furthest away I've ever attempted a shot. Behold the power of digiscoping!!! GREAT for documenting that rare species!! Equipment was Swarovski AT80 HD scope, Nikon Coolpix 4500 digital camera.
