Australian White Ibis Photos

Threskiornis moluccus

For us, the first time we saw an Australian White Ibis (not long after landing in Sydney) was pretty cool! Not a bird we have in South Dakota! But in much of Australia they're referred to as "bin chickens", as they are pretty much like a big  urban pigeon in many areas, probing garbage cans and hanging around outdoor restaurants in the hope of a nibble. Still pretty birds to me, particularly if you see a kind of a breeding display (?) here.
